The simple cotton ball may not seem like anything important, but it actually has a lot of versatility. In addition to working for removing eye makeup, dabbing on topical medicine, and cleaning little babies crooks and crevices, the cotton ball can also be used for creating fun crafts. In fact, schools and parents have been making things from the cotton ball for years.

A great example is creating Easter chicks eggs. For this, a person needs construction paper, raw eggs, scissors, tacky glue, pieces of orange felt, craft supplies to include glitter, ribbon, and paint, and of course, the cotton balls. For this project, stands for the finished eggs using small pieces of construction paper. This would be cut into strips measuring 1/4 by 6 inches. The ends of the strips are then glued together to create a ring. From there, children can add whatever decorations they want using the various craft items.

A small hole is created in the top of the egg, allowing the white and yolk to be removed. The top portion of the shell is chipped away so half a shell remains. Then, the egg would be rinsed out and allowed to dry completely. Next, a cotton ball is glued to the bottom portion of the shell and for the wings, two small cotton balls would go on either side of the shell.

A piece of orange felt is cut out in the shape of a triangle, which is then glued to the center of the cotton ball being very carefully. To give the chick eyes, craft wiggly eyes can be added. The child can then use paints or other craft items to add color and designs to the face and body of the chick shell. While there are hundreds of fun projects, those made with a cotton ball are simple and fun.
